As a 5th grade student, Alicia Kamran established Fite Cure, a fundraising initiative to help make a difference for patients and families at Blank Children’s Hospital. Inspired by the treatment her sister received at Blank Children’s Hospital, Alicia set out to bring comfort to other families receiving treatment, and over the past three years, has done just that.

Through Fite Cure, Alicia has hosted apparel sales, organized and executed a dance event, complete with a silent auction, and raised awareness through public events. In just two and half years, Alicia has raised over $11,147 to support the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Blank.

In the words of Brenna Finnerty of Blank Children’s Hospital, “Her hard work and generosity not only brings smiles and fun for patients and families, it also serves as an inspiration to other students that anyone can make a difference.”
