The Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School MVP program is student-led organization dedicated to initiating conversations about tough subjects concerning students inside and outside the classroom. Students courageously and respectively engage their peers in conversations concerning bullying, harmful social media practices, harassment, unhealthy societal norms, the responsibilities of a bystander, and more. Founded in 2016, this MVP program provides student leaders with the opportunity to prepare and deliver meaningful discussions accompanied by engaging activities about intimidating topics.
This organization of students exemplifies good character every time they interact with their peers, lead group discussions, and role model MVP qualities. Working together, MVP at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School builds a sense of community and citizenship while tackling heavy material. By establishing trusting relationships and offering safe spaces for students, MVP is changing students’ educational experiences for the better.
